The Girl of Ink and Stars is a great book about friendship and adventures. Isabella lives on the once beautiful island of Joya, but as evil overcomes it and her best friend Lupe goes missing, she, as the map maker’s daughter, must delve into the heart of the island and use her knowledge to overcome the fear it holds. She is armed only with a glowing stick, her mother’s magic map, and the stories she had been told. If you enjoy reading magical books that leave you on the edge of your seat, it’s definitely a book worth reading.
