First and Forever by Lynn Painter is an amazing book. The story follows the lives of the Minneapolis Coyotes’ biggest fan, Duffy Distefano, and the Coyotes’ MVP, Connor Cunningham. After becoming the most hated person on the internet for pushing the team’s so-called “innocent mascot”, Duffy must clear her name by agreeing to a talk show. However, to her surprise, her co-host is one of her favourite football players, Connor. Their banter sparks an internet sensation. The public loves them so much that a fake relationship comes into play, hiding the real feelings that might be lurking between the two in times of grief and medical problems. This book is perfect for older students who want a great sports rom-com that you can’t help but smile at. I could not recommend this more.
