Max : a novel

This story is about a Year 7 Aussie boy named Max who lives with his parents at Windsor, Brisbane. He has a talent for Aussie Rules Football and plays a bit of cricket. He likes to play with his mates at the local oval but lately there had been a lot of rain. Because he lived on a flood plain, he had a traumatising experience of the 2022 Brisbane floods. This book has a good story plot and characters who tie in with the topic, like Anh (Max’s mum), who is a helicopter pilot and saved a family in the book. Also, Max’s dad, Thomas, is an environmentalist, and Bianca (Max’s friend), who cares about the environment and often shows up to his house wearing t-shirts highlighting the importance of Earth. I’m sure you will enjoy this book about an Aussie boy’s experience in the 2022 Brisbane floods. I recommend it for readers aged 11 and above and I rate it with 4 stars.
