Review: Jimmy Baxter is a captivating book, perfect for young, adventurous readers. The story is about a boy named Jimmy Branthwaite, who runs away from his father with his mum and arrives in a town called Mungo Creek. Here at Mungo Creek, Jimmy settles down to make a new life with new friends, a new house and a new school along with changing his last name to ‘Baxter’. I really liked the part where he finally realised what he had done to his father towards the end of the book. I give it a 4/5 stars.
