This is the second book in the Oceanforged series, a fantasy and action must read. I would recommend reading the first book, ‘Oceanforged: The Wicked Ship’ otherwise the storyline will feel incomplete.
With the help of her new companions Tarn and Jem, Cori goes in search of Mutemont to find the next piece of the Oceanforged Armour (after having found the first piece in book one). Anytime someone has tried to do this they’ve never returned. When the three of them approach on their ship, something unforeseen lurks beneath the waters.
My favourite scene in this book is near the start, when Cori, Tarn and Jem find a group of loyalists, who they assume will give them the answers they need, but instead they’re given a deadline to complete their extremely difficult task. This helped build the excitement and tension.
I would recommend this book for kids aged 8-12, as it has a fast-paced, action-filled storyline with thrilling twists at every corner.
