The Ruins of Gorlan
The New York Times and Australian mega-bestselling series about Will and his friends from Castle Redmont starts here! Will is small for his age, but agile and energetic. All his life, he has dreamed of becoming a great knight like the father he never knew, so he is devastated when he is rejected as an apprentice to Castle Redmont's Battleschool. Instead he is apprenticed to Halt, the mysterious Ranger whose uncanny ability to move unseen…

Ranger’s Apprentice:Ruins of Gorlan is a thrilling start to the Ranger’s Apprentice series. It has an interesting and well-written story line. It starts by telling us about a boy called Will, and it tells us that he is an orphan, which makes his past seem mysterious. The book tells us about his friends, enemies, and goals in life, which makes him feel like he is a real person.

The book shows his struggles and talents throughout the story, and when Will discovers archery, it feels like a perfect match because of how Will’s personality was made. The book had me hooked within the first couple minutes of reading it. It was a bit complicated, but it’s still a good book.
