By turns dark and light, funny and poignant, this unforgettable collection of stories takes us right to the heart of what it means to be young in today's world, from a CBCA award-winning author. Our home town. Sometimes it feels like the centre of the universe, sometimes it's the bum-end of nowhere. We are her sons and daughters. These are our triumphs and our heartaches, our fears and hopes for a better life. Getting lost,…

This book of short stories grabs your attention with the very first sentence on the very first page. Each short story tells a new adventure about someone and their perspective through an important event of their life. Every story makes you feel a brand new emotion and you start to get attached to characters in the stories. You feel empathetic for what each character is going through. The text is written so beautifully that you can imagine you are there with them going through the same thing.

My personal favourite stories were “Answers” (pg1-16) and “Karma” (pg157-166) because “Answers” had a very intriguing plot, whilst “Karma” was a more comedic story. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone around the ages 12+ because there are some adult themes.
