A Glasshouse of Stars
Meixing Lim and her family have arrived at the New House in the New Land, inherited from First Uncle who died tragically and unexpectedly while picking oranges in the backyard. She is embarrassed by the second-hand shoes given to her by the kind neighbours, has trouble understanding the language at school, and with fitting…

In this unique book, the author, Shirley Marr took a wild dive off the traditional layout for stories and wrote the entire book in second person. Being in second person, you are immersed into the story as if it was happening to you.

It tells the story of a little girl who has just immigrated from another country. Her adventure is not like other stories, her story is normal… with a small exception. The story is mainly about just trying to fit into a society you never wanted to be in.

This book immerses you until you are done. I couldn’t put it down!
