I really enjoyed this book’s exciting and suspenseful storyline, filled with loveable and interesting characters, and exciting plot twists. The story is a mixture between the modern-day world and Greek mythology brought to life. As Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon (God of the sea) is sent to camp half-blood (a training ground for dietes) after discovering that he is a demigod, he learns to harness his divine powers in preparation for an adventure of a lifetime; rescuing his mother from Hades clutches and preventing a feud among the Olympians from erupting after Zeus’ lightning bolt was mysteriously taken. I would recommend these books to children and teens who are looking for a fast-paced action plot, mixed with elements of Ancient Greek religion and an appealing set of characters. I’m looking forward to reading the sequels: The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian.
