The Long Walk
On the first day of May, 100 teenage boys meet for a race known as "The Long Walk." If you break the rules, you get three warnings. If you exceed your limit, what happens is absolutely terrifying...

The Long Walk, by award-winning horror author Stephen King, follows 100 teenage boys on their
journey to walk along the U.S. Route 1 – without rest. Rules for this gruelling match are simple: you
must keep a steady pace of 4 m.p.h., no outside aid, slow down under the speed limit and you’re
given a warning, three warnings and you’re out of the game – permanently.

This American dystopian book follows Ray Garraty on his endeavour to win this national tournament by being the last man standing. I very much enjoyed this book. The similar feel to the Hunger Games, in following one contestant’s journey in a twisted game, is displayed incredibly. It’s a great way to get into Stephen King novels as it’s fast paced and a remarkable storyline. Stephen King’s craft will keep you hooked until the very last page.
