I’m writing this review about: The Magician, The Sorceress, and The Alchemyst which are the first
three books in the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. The overview of the story is: there are two 600-year-old immortals and a mean man who is also 600 years old. He wants the formula that keeps the other two immortals young … oh and the formula can change the
universe.
There is magic, a quest to find legendary twins, mind reading, fighting, some true legends and much more. In these books, the main characters face many flesh-eating, blood-drinking creatures who try to destroy them but ultimately fail. I feel there are too many things that go wrong and not enough things that go right. I like all the drama; it keeps you guessing.
So, if you love drama, adventure, mystery, myth, and legend, strap yourself in and get ready to enjoy a crazy fantasy land. Some aspects of these books are similar to Harry Potter e.g.; magic and sorcery. I highly recommend them because they are action-packed and have many problems that the main characters must overcome.
